Medical Reception

Medical Reception Activities:
- Employs excellent customer service skills
- Ensures smooth patient flow
- Reviews clinic schedule daily
- Obtains patient demographic information and insurance information
- Provides general patient services
- Responds to patients’ needs and concerns as appropriate. Investigates complaints and works with office manager to find solutions
- May accept and process patient payments (co-pays, deposits, etc.)
Appointment Scheduling:
- Schedules appointments consistent with patient needs and clinic scheduling guidelines
- Assembles and sends appointment and other information
- Maintains current and accurate system by entering canceled and rescheduled appointments
- Coordinates and schedules ancillary appointments and consult appointments
- Assists in the preparation and maintenance of provider and clinic schedules
Telephone Support:
- Answers the telephone in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner
- Using clinic guidelines, gathers information on the telephone re: the nature of the patient concern. Triages calls to appropriate staff; obtains necessary information for the return call; initiates emergency procedure when necessary, uses appropriate documentation tools
- Communicates basic information to patients such as insurance, parking, driving directions, etc.
Billing Activities:
- Verifies patient insurance upon check-in, including contract relationship via Insurance Web Tool; reviews registration page for accuracy; creates appropriate guarantor account and adds/changes insurance when necessary
General Duties:
- Assists in orienting and training new staff
- Reviews email daily to stay current with clinic communication
- Maintains the physical environment for safety of staff and patients and for aesthetic presentation of the area (for example, organizing the waiting room furniture and magazine area.)
- Responds to facility and environmental emergencies according to established procedures
- Inventories office supplies and forms.
- Sorts and distributes faxes and mail on a daily basis
- Ensures daily functioning of office equipment

At Bozeman Creek Family Health, the medical assistant is a vital member of our patient care team. They work closely with the providers to provide the best care possible for each patient. While working directly with one assigned provider is optimal, it may be required to also work at the front desk and with other providers within the clinic. This teamwork is expected as an employee of BCFH.
Job duties of the medical assistant at BCFH include:
- Taking vital signs and preparing a patient for an exam by the provider
- Performing necessary in-house tests as directed by the provider
- Maintaining in-house tests by doing controls as needed
- Performing phlebotomy and drawing the labs as directed by the provider
- Documenting phone calls, patient care notes, immunizations, medication administration, and any other patient interactions as needed in the patient’s chart
- Administering immunizations correctly and as directed by a provider
- Administering medications correctly as directed by a provider
- Maintaining a professional attitude towards patients on the phone and in person
- Maintaining a professional and positive attitude with co-workers in the clinical setting
- Performing BCFH clinical staff duties as directed by a supervisor
- Working at the front desk when needed and maintaining a positive, professional attitude while doing so

Registered Nurse

At Bozeman Creek Family Health, the RN is a vital member of our patient care team. They work closely with the providers to provide the best care possible for each patient. While working directly with one assigned provider is optimal, it may be required to also work with other providers within the clinic. This teamwork is expected as an employee of BCFH.

- Taking vital signs and preparing a patient for an exam by the provider
